Advantages and Disadvantages of the Plug In Profit Site Program

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Plug-In Profit Site Program
by Suzanne Morrison

The Plug-In Profit Site is a popular business opportunity and over 20,000 people have joined over the last 5 years or so. I was one of these people, hungry to make money online but with no idea how to do it.

Four years on, I am a bit older and a bit wiser and I have become one of the lucky few who is earning enough online to quit my job and start working full time in my pajamas.

If you are wondering "is the Plug-In Profit Site right for me?" or "what are the pros and cons of this opportunity?" then this article should help answer your questions.

While this was the perfect opportunity for me to get started with, I do recognize that everyone is different and what worked for me won't necessarily work for you. To help you get a better understanding of this opportunity I will start by summarising what it is all about and then go on to explain what the advantages and disadvantages are.

In a nutshell the Plug-In Profit Site is a home based business opportunities website created by Stone Evans, promoting five different home business programs. At the time of writing these are Host4Profit, Success University, Strong Future International (SFI).

The site is free as long as you host on Host4Profit and you can choose whether to join all five programs or just a subset of them. Some of the opportunities are free to join whilst others charge a fee.

When you apply for a Plug-In Profit Site you will receive a home business website, a series of autoresponder messages to follow up on your subscribers, access to a helpdesk and a member support forum plus a "30 days to success" training guide.

Advantages of the Plug-In Profit Site

(1) Residual Income - all the programs promoted on the Plug-In Profit Site pay residual income which means that by making one sale you can receive a commission every month. An example of this is Host4Profit hosting, which pays $10 commission per month for every customer you sign up, for as long as they remain with Host4Profit.

(2) Website Built within 24hrs - as long as you submit all your information correctly you will receive your website within 24hrs or less. Normally when you build a website there is a long period of research and it takes a lot of time and effort or money to built the site. With the Plug-In Profit site you can get started promoting your site straight away without having to worry about this.

(3) Customizable Site - as long as you know some HTML or are able to use a free website editor such as NVU you can make changes to your website. This could include adding or removing programs, adding an introduction or photo or adding new pages. Alternatively there are affordable services available from various people to enhance your website e.g. by changing the color, adding new pages and products or optimizing it.

(4) Top Notch Support Network - you will receive a day by day training guide, access to a members support forum and a support helpdesk. If it is one on one mentoring you are after then a group caled PIPS Power Group can provide online coaching at an affordable price.

Disadvantages of the Plug-In Profit Site

(1) Many of the programs within the Plug-In profit Site are MLMs (Multi Level Marketing Programs) which means that you will earn a proportion of the commissions for every person that signs up under you. I personally don't see this as a problem but many people do not like MLMs so I have included this as a disadvantage.

(2) You are not going to make money overnight. Unless you are an experienced internet marketer with a well established website or a big list it is unlikely that you will make money overnight or within the first few weeks. There is a learning curve and you will have to spend some time and effort promoting your website.

(3) Some technical knowledge required to change your website - although your website is fully customizable you do need to either learn some basic HTML OR use a web page editor like NVU to make changes to your website. You also have the option of paying someone to make changes to your webiste. If you do not want to make any changes yourself or pay to have someone make changes it will be more difficult to have success with this website.

(4) It is not free - although the site will be built for you for free, the minimum running cost is $15 a year plus $24.95 per month for hosting. If money is tight and you can barely afford to live then this is not for you.

These are the main advantages and disadvantages of the Plug-In Profit site. I hope this balanced review of the Plug-In Profit Site will help you to decide whether this is the right business opportunity for you.

Do We Need Anymore Reasons?

I noticed a nugget of economic news in the New York
Times today:

Gross income rose 1.2 percent in 2006 dollars compared
to 2000, the time when the last economic expansion ended,
the latest tax data show.

So in other words, on an inflation adjusted basis, people
are finally making more money than they did in 2000.

When you look at the big picture, this isn't really good
news. It only took 6 years for wages to even keep up
with inflation.

Finding additional streams of income is an obvious solution
to stagnant wages. There has been no better time to take
care of yourself. No one else will.

Peak Oil and Automated Incom

When cruising around the net looking for automated income
opportunities it is easy to find the promises that different
sites will make. They sell the dream of financial indepen-
dence. The ability to cast off the shackles of the work-a-day
world and enjoy the freedom and flexibility that you deserve.

It's easy to accept the argument for that reason because it's
true. Automated income is a realistic dream worth pursuing.
However, there is a more practical reason to look for an
online opportunity. The world is running out of resources,
particularly oil.

Now, I am not asserting some sort of doomsday or Mad Max
type of scenario. What I do expect is that the cost of
getting from one place to the next is going to continue to
trend higher. This will not only effect the cost of gas,
but the cost of everything that uses petroleum products.
This includes things that most people never even consider.
Things like anything plastic, fertilizer for our farms, and
the heat for many of our homes. In fact, there are thousands
of commercial applications for petroleum products. Most of
them are beyond the understanding of people like you and me.

Peak Oil is the theory that there is a point in time where
the maximum amount of oil taken out of the ground will peak.
After this point has been reached extraction will fall into
a terminal decline. A geologist named M King Hubbert started
and used this theory to accurately predict that production
in the United States would peak around 1970. Regardless
of your belief in that theory, it's hard to argue that there
is a limitless supply of oil.

American will also have to contend with increased competition
for a limited resource. Emerging economies, primarily China
and India, are rapidly industrializing. This increased
competition will cause prices to trend higher.

So what does that mean? Obviously it will be more expensive
to drive. Even if you make the argument for alternative
fuels, gasoline isn't going away anytime soon. Potentially
there could be a shift toward more telecommuting. Perhaps
even a population shift away from the outer suburbs and
back to more urban centers. Regardless of what you believe
about consumption, there will be a change in the way we live.

So how do you adapt? It's easy to accept that emergence of
the internet has changed all of our lives. There is access
to information that I could not even dream of when I was
growing up in the 1980s. This emergence is also largely
responsible for the explosion of the home business industry.

If you choose carefully and look for proven and tested
opportunities, you can stay ahead of the curve. Automated
Income is possible. You do deserve success. Following
your dream of financial Independence will keep you ahead
the peak oil trend.

Hugh Reavis

Blog about other blogs I like

I wanted to make a quick post about a couple of blogs that
follow things that I like.

First, I have put one together that covers the topic of day
trading. More specifically, day trading in the forex market.
I have been interested in and participated as an investor
in the forex market for some months now. I think it offers
individual investors an opportunity to get involved with the
largest financial market in the entire world.

The blog itself provides Q&A, opinions, and video about
how to day trade. Check it out: www.learndaytradingblog.com

Another blog I have put together covers a key topic for
home business: automated income. The blog brings together
resources from around the net to help the home business
entreprenuer put their income on autopilot.

You'll find it at: www.automatedincomeblog.com

Do you need more than one program?

Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/main-23819

We've been talking lately about the RIGHT kind of affiliate
programs and the WRONG kind of affiliate programs.

Let's shift our focus today to the NUMBER of affiliate
programs you promote. This is also a very important
consideration.

The fact is that there are many people who are a member of
TOO FEW affiliate programs and there are many people who are
a member of TOO MANY. There are only a handful of people who
have found the magic "sweet spot" right in the middle and
those are the happy people who are making the most money.

Why is TOO FEW affiliate programs a problem?

Joining too few affiliate programs is a problem for 3 MAJOR
reasons:

#1. The bottom line is that you absolutely, positively MUST
start earning multiple streams of income. One income stream,
even 2 is not enough in today's world. If you are only
relying on you job as your main source of income right now,
you're a sitting duck for a financial disaster. If you lose
your job or your health, God forbid, you could be in big
trouble financially. Most people are just one paycheck away
from bankruptcy.

Affiliate marketing is the same way. If you're relying on
just one or two affiliate programs to pull in the bulk of
your income, you're extremely vulnerable. Even if you've
built up a big residual income in a program, if it goes out
of business so do you. I had one program a couple of years
ago that I was earning $5,000+ per month from and then
circumstances happened with the program where they had to
cancel all recurring billings... I lost $60,000+ a year in
income in the blink of an eye! You absolutely, positively
MUST develop multiple streams of income to be secure in
today's world.

#2. Joining only one or two affiliate program does not give
you enough experience to compare strengths and weaknesses of
different programs. It leaves you being unaware of different
possibilities and that's very dangerous to your fiscal
health.

#3. There's is a saying that "If all you have is a hammer,
every problem looks like a nail." If you only have one or
two different products or programs to promote, that's not
enough to solve the many different problems people will be
coming to you for. You need to have a variety of tools in
your affiliate toolbox so you can pull out the right one at
the right time for the right person. If you don't, you'll be
leaving money on the table. It's that simple.

Why is TOO MANY affiliate programs a problem?

Joining too many affiliate programs is a problem for 2 MAJOR
reasons:

#1. You'll get way too distracted. Focus has great power and
if you have too many things to think about at one time,
you'll get confused. When you're confused, you don't take
action. When you don't action, you don't make money.

#2. People won't take you seriously. If you're promoting
everything and anything, people will sense your lack of
sincerity and have no desire to do business with you. One of
the big secrets to affiliate marketing success is promoting
things you have some experience with and believe in.

But there a magic "sweet spot" somewhere in the middle of
having enough products and programs to promote that keep you
diversified and capable of solving multiple problems for
people.

For example, if you get 100 people to visit your website and
only have one product you're promoting and your website
successfully converts 1 out of 100 visitors to a sale, then
you've made 1 sale. But if you have a couple more products
on your site that are related but different, you may find
that you get 3-5 people out of 100 who buy from you because
they find other things that solve their problems. So just
having a few different options for people can multiply your
income 300% or more without any additional effort.

In my experience, 5-6 different affiliate programs in a
niche is the generally the best starting point. This gives
you enough experience with different programs to compare
their strengths and weaknesses. It gives you enough
diversity so you can offer your prospects the right solution
at the right time. And it broadens your own affiliate
portfolio enough so that you can survive a disaster JUST IN
CASE one of the affiliate programs you are promoting falls
on hard times.

That's also why the Plug-In Profit Site system includes 6 of
the most respected affiliate programs online in the "work at
home" niche market. They are all proven programs with a long
and successful track-record for helping people make money
online. They are the cream that has risen to the top for me
personally after testing hundreds of different affiliate
programs since I started this journey back in 1999. You can
review these 6 affiliate programs yourself in Step 1 about
midway down on this page:
http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/main-23819

No matter what niche market you are in, I encourage you to
you diversify your affiliate portfolio and get at least 5-6
high quality, top paying affiliate programs to promote in
order to ensure your short-term and long-term success.

Lead, Follow, or Get in the Way

Lead,Follow, or Get in the Way
Copyright © Hugh Reavis
http://www.HomeFreeSolutions.com

It's certainly a bit of a twist on the leadership quote
that is attributed to Thomas Paine. However, I am not
talking about leadership. I am talking about internet
marketing. It has often been said that if you build a
better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your
door. I am here to assert that prospective internet
marketers should put marketing first, and product last.

Market economies are extraordinarily competitive. This
is true if you have a brick and mortar business, or an
online business. It is extremely difficult to develop
an idea into a product, market it successfully, and sell
it for a profit. There are a seemingly limitless number
of businesses that already have an established brand,
significant market share, and a profitable distribution
system. Instead of trying to compete with the big boys,
why not get online and try to get in the way of the people
looking for them?

I have always believed that the path of least resistance
is the path of the loser. However, I don't believe this
applies in the arena of internet marketing. The internet
is the only place I've discovered where you can research
what people want, find out where they are looking for it,
and then simply help them get there. The research tools for
this are just a few clicks away.

Let's use a simple example. Say for example you're inter-
ested in widgets. You've used widgets for years and you
are passionate about them. You think that widgets are the
the greatest thing since the ballpoint pen. Instead of
building your own, you can cash in on the widget trade.
With some basic keyword research, you discover a niche
within the widget market.

Through further research, you discover how much traffic is
directed toward this particular type of widget. Based on
your research, you can then discover which widget products
best serve this particular niche. Among these products,
there are affiliate programs that allow you to get paid for
referring traffic to these particular products.

The topics of keyword research, niche and affiliate marketing are
are beyond the scope of this article. The conclusion, however,
is clear. You have the technology in the palm of your hand
that allows you to discover what people want. When you
discover what people want, all you need to do is to help them
get there. It's a great and inexpensive shortcut to help
consumers, businesses, and yourself succeed.

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
Author of "Dotcomology - The Science of Making Money Online"

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.

Why do we fail?
Copyright © Hugh Reavis
http://www.HomeFreeSolutions.com

As you browse the bestseller lists and bookstore shelves you'll see them there by the dozen. Authors that will show you step by step on how to be a happier and more successful person. But has anyone considered why people fail? It doesn't seem to be such a hot topic. I have never seen a self-help book or articled titled: "Here's why you screwed up...". Perhaps it's because the topic of failure itself doesn't seem to inspire. It inspires me. It inspires me because I have learned that if you fail enough, eventually you'll succeed.

I am an expert on failure. I say that because I have probably had a lot more catastrophic failures than the average person. I view every defeat I have had in my business and personal life as an opportunity to learn something. A valuable lesson that can be learned and applied in the future. I think the first reason people fail is because it hurts to look at yourself critically and analyze how you went wrong. It's far too easy to blame our misfortune on other people, or on circumstances
beyond our control.

Speaking of my failures, I said that I have experienced more than average. A lot of that stems from a willingness to take risks. Most people dream about a happier life. A happier life means different things to different people. Some people want more money. Perhaps they want more time, a greater perception of freedom. The problem is that they can't get moving to achieve their goals. They are afraid of risk. They are afraid of losing what they think they have. We all have a finite amount of time in this life. We never know how much we have. This makes time the most valuable resource. To waste it by not taking a chance is the greatest risk of all.

It's been said that people don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. You see simple examples all around us. Many Americans don't save and spend beyond their means. They live completely in the present. The future becomes something that will happen to somebody else. The don't seem to start in the beginning with the end in mind. They lack goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable, and tangible. The "S.M.A.R.T" process for goal setting allows one to set goals that are just as the acronym implies. If you have fuzzy goals, you will have fuzzy outcomes. That is, if you manage any outcome at all.

This brings me to my next point on why we fail. People don't break down their goals into a set of measurable actions steps. This is like trying to find the way to San Jose, only without a map. You'll wind up scratching your head and wondering if you should have taken that left turn at Albuqeurqe. What actions do I need to take each day in order to support my revenue goals? Until you understand your metrics, you don't really understand your business.

The last thing I wanted to point out is that success is a team sport. You are not alone. There are thousands of people who are on the same journey as you. There are countless forums dedicated to a variety of pursuits where like minded people come together to share ideas and grow. Take advantage of them. You will find opportunities by learning from the failures of others.

It doesn't matter how you fail, or how often. It's not important that you fall down, it's that you get back up--and keep getting back up! Learn a lesson from every stumble and every step. It's the survivors that carry the day.

Knowledge + ACTION = Wealth

Recession-Proof Your Life

Recession-Proof Your Life
Copyright © Hugh Reavis
http://www.HomeFreeSolutions.com

You can't miss the headlines. They're all around you. The price of gas is over $4.00 per gallon. Food prices are up over 40% from a year ago. Unemployment has risen to the highest level in over 10 years. Housing prices seem to be in free fall. Americans seem to feel a lot less wealthy than they did a few years ago. It really makes you think about your own financial security. What happens to my family if I lose my job and can't easily find another? What can I do to supplement or even replace my income?

It seems we've all heard about the virtue of multiple streams of income. You can't turn on the television, look on the internet, or walk through a bookstore without some guru proclaiming the virtue of the latest "system" that will change your life. They tell you that you are entitled to wealth. Simply follow the "system" and your life will change immediately.

Well as it turns out, there is good news and bad news. Let's start with the bad news. There is no magic bullet. There, I said it. There is no magical, turn-key, idiot proof ticket to instant success. A home business requires work, some capital investment, and a lot of commitment. If you treat your home based business as a business and not as a hobby, it will pay you like one.

Now, here's the good news. It can be done. There are opportunities out there that are as unique as the individuals that participate in them. When you begin to evaluate how to earn more, or even replace your current income, you have to be thoroughly honest with yourself.

What am I passionate about? What am I really willing to do to make this a success? What does success really mean to me?

For me it was about being in a position where nothing could ever be taken from me again. I spent some time determining what that meant financially. I then built a plan on how to get there. I then asked myself what I was willing to do to get there.

I knew I wanted to do something that was socially meaningful. I wanted something that would help others reach their dreams. That was something I could get excited about. Then I began to evaluate what would be of value to others, have a low cost of entry, and have the potential to generate multiple streams of residual income. What could I do online and not have to sell anything? How could I do this without recruiting my family and friends? How could I become recession proof? How could I be home free?

I spent months learning about the best opportunities. I learned how to promote them online without pestering my family and friends. I must also admit that I failed repeatedly. I kept on failing because I always knew that I would succed. I have done this so you don't have to.

I also learned that I am entitled to be wealthy. I deserve success. However, there is no success without work and without sacrifice. With that in mind, it's time to discover your passion, make the committment, and make the leap!

Knowledge + ACTION = Wealth.
